A bit about me:
I'm an aspiring engineering senior at Harvard-Westlake
I’m Daniel Baek, a senior at Harvard-Westlake in Los Angeles. I’m drawn to the intersection of machine learning, civil engineering, and sustainable urban design—especially where they overlap to make transportation more accessible, efficient, and human-centered.
At school, I co-lead a STEM outreach club that brings hands-on engineering and coding workshops to middle schools across Studio City. I also serve as a student ambassador and compete on the debate team, where I’ve spent the last few years building arguments, coaching younger debaters, and traveling to tournaments.
Beyond campus, I’m heavily involved in service through my scouting and Venture crew, organizing community projects and mentoring younger scouts. I stay busy in computer science too, working on machine learning projects and competing in programming contests whenever I can.
Overall, I’m motivated by work that blends technical innovation with real-world impact—and I’m always looking for new ways to bridge those worlds.
